Police Blotter: Drunk Man Flees On Foot From Police

Robberies, burglaries and several domestic assaults also recorded in the Inver Grove Heights police reports from Oct. 15-21.

Oct. 15

5 a.m.—Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Upper 55th St. regarding a fight call involving two females in the hallway of an apartment complex. When the officer arrived, he found one of the females in an apartment. The woman told police that she had tried to convince her intoxicated friend not to leave the apartment. The friend left, and then came back later in the evening and knocked on the door of the apartment. When the victim opened the door, she told police her friend attacked her, pulling her hair, scratching her and putting her finger in the victim's mouth and pulling at her cheek. After the attack, the friend left the apartment complex. Police were unable to locate the second woman.

5:36 p.m.—Police responded to reports of drug activity on the 1400 block of Upper 55th St.

Oct. 16

4:55 p.m.—Police responded to a report of a domestic assault on the 1900 block of 52nd St.

Oct. 17

3:33 p.m.—Police responded to a report of a domestic assault/terroristic threats incident on the 5400 block of Audobon Ave.

7 p.m.—Police responded to a burglary call on the 3100 block of 65th St. E. The officer met with the victim, who told police someone entered his garage and stole an ice-fishing auger. The man's roommate later reported his chainsaw missing, as well. At the time of the report, police had no suspects.

8:15 p.m.—Police responded to a report of a robbery on the 7700 block of Dickman Trl. E.

10:40 p.m.—Police were involved in the pursuit of a man fleeing in a stolen motor vehicle along 12th Ave. S.

Oct. 18

12 a.m.—Police responded to a sudden death incident on the 10400 block of Brent Ave. E.

10:30 p.m.—Police were dispatched to a home on the 5300 block of Audobon Ave. in response to a domestic call. The caller told police that her boyfriend had pushed her, held her down against the floor and broke her cell phone when she tried to call police. She eventually ran to a neighbors apartment to use their phone, and as she was calling police, her boyfriend left the apartment building. Police took pictures of the apartment, which was in disarray, and the redness on the victim's arms and wrists. Police spoke to the boyfriend over the phone, and he agreed to return to the apartment. An officer arrested the man, who allegedly admitted to police that he got "out of control" after seeing something on Facebook that upset him.

10:51 p.m.—Police responded to a report of a burglary on the 5800 block of Carmen Ave.

Oct. 19

4:01 p.m.—A 33-year-old living on the 5300 block of Audobon Ave. told police that someone broke into her detached garage and stole four new winter tires that were stored in the garage. The unit was locked, and police could not see any damage to the lock or other signs of forced entry. There were video cameras in the area, but they weren't working at the time of the incident. At the time of the report, police had no suspects.

10:08 p.m.—Police responded to a drug-related incident on the 8100 block of College Trl. E.

11:46 p.m.—Police responded to the 6100 block of Carmen Ave. E. on reports of a fight. As an officer was patrolling through the area, he found a male walking in a parking lot. As soon as the man saw the officer, he began to run. The officer shouted at the man to stop, then flipped on his squad car's lights and sirens when the man continued running. The man ran through the courtyard of a nearby apartment complex and across Carmen Ave. before submitting to police and lying down in the grass. The officer asked the man why he ran, and the man told police he ran because the officer was a cop. The man, who referred to the officer as a "pig," was handcuffed and searched. Noticing the smell of alcohol, police asked him how much he had to drink. The man told the officer he had "20,000 bottles," then refused to submit to a PBT. Police transported the man to detox.

Oct. 20

10:30 p.m.—Police responded to a report of a burglary on the 8600 block of Beverly Way E.
