Police: Five Traffic Accidents After Weekend Snow
No one was injured on local roads during as a result of the weekend snowstorm.
The Inver Grove Heights Police Department responded to five traffic accidents on local roads this weekend, after the first substantial snowstorm of the season created hazardous driving conditions Saturday evening and into Sunday morning.
No one was injured as the result of the accidents, Inver Grove Heights police spokesperson Sean Folmar said on Monday. The accidents took place on the 7800 block of Cahill Avenue; the intersection of Concord Boulevard and Dawn Way; the 5800 block of Blackberry Trail; the intersection of 75th Street and Concord; and the intersection of Bishop Avenue and Blackburn Lane.
In a separate incident in Monroe County, Wis., an Inver Grove Heights man was injured when a semi truck he was driving skidded off the road and rolled over in a ditch. Todd Plum, 42, was taken to Tomah Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released, according to a WXOW News 19 report.

Dakota County recommends that local drivers plan for emergencies by carrying booster cables, road flares, a shovel, blankets, boots, mittens, a hat, a windshield scraper, two ropes and a winter survival kit in your vehicle during the winter driving season. County officials also urges drivers to makes sure their antifreeze, battery, breaks, exhaust and lights are all working properly.
