An Inver Grove Heights man has been charged with criminal sexual conduct and making terroristic threats after authorities say he inappropriately touched a teenager while she was sleeping and then threatened her and another man with a knife last weekend.

Aaron William Allen, 23, faces two felony counts of making terroristic threats – each of which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine – and one felony count of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct, which carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a $3,000 fine.

According to the criminal complaint in the case, filed in Dakota County District Court in Hastings, an Inver Grove Heights teen woke up last Saturday to find Allen touching her breasts and buttocks while she slept.

The complaint says the girl lay back down, but Allen awakened her again, this time holding a pocket knife about 3 inches from her neck and warning her that if she told anyone, he wasn’t afraid to use the knife.

According to the complaint, Allen told the girl to take a pillow and a blanket and go into the closet. The girl said she told Allen she had to use the bathroom, and that he followed her out of the room. She ran into the living room and awakened another person, who confronted Allen.

As Allen fled the apartment, two other people from the apartment followed him to a nearby convenience store and confronted him, the complaint says. When Allen pulled a knife on one of them, he backed away and the two left the area.

Allen remains in the Dakota County Jail on a $50,000 bond. An omnibus hearing in his case is scheduled for June 20 in Hastings.
