Simley High Student Restrained by School Resource Officer

The student, who had been sent home earlier in the day, did not "comply with directives from administrators," Simley's principal says in an email. Classes proceeded after the incident.

A student was restrained by a school resource officer Friday afternoon when the student attempted to re-enter the school after being sent home earlier in the day.

In an email sent out by the school after classes Friday, Simley Principal Gerald Sakala says the student entered the building at about 1:35 p.m., which is between sixth- and seventh-hour classes at Simley.

The student “refused to comply with directives from administrators,” Sakala says in the email, and was restrained by the officer. The incident was seen by several students moving between classes.
