South St. Paul Boy, 8, Home After Believed Missing Overnight

A South St. Paul grade-schooler was reported missing last night around midnight after he biked away from his family home in the 900 Block of Ninth Avenue South.

A tense situation in nearby South St. Paul ended early this morning when an 8-year-old boy, reported missing late last night, returned home.

Fa'Shawn Johnson had been missing since about 9 p.m. Tuesday. He biked off from his family's residence in South St. Paul and wasn't seen overnight. He was reported missing at about midnight by his family.

He returned home shortly after 8 a.m. this morning. Police and searchers weren't sure where he came from, but KSTP.com reports his family was glad to have him back, though he'll "be grounded," his brother said.

Police asked people around the South St. Paul area to search yards, sheds and, for the first time since a boy's tragic death in Wisconsin this summer, trunks of vehicles.
