Topsy Turvy Landing in Lakeville Leads Dakota County Sheriff's Roundup

The student pilot and instructor were able to walk away from this upside-down mishap.

Safe to say, this pilot's fun meter is pegged.

Last Monday, deputies with the Dakota County Sheriff's Office arrived to an unusual scene: A small aircraft lying belly-up on the runway of the Airlake Airport in Lakeville. The plane, a Cessna 120, flipped over while making a landing.

Both the student pilot and the instructor walked away from the crash. They sustained minor injuries. The Federal Aviation Administration and the Metropolitan Airports Commission are investigating the incident.

The gooned up landing was just one incident featured in Sheriff Dave Bellows' newsletter, after a busy week that included a fatal ATV accident, a serious car crash in a cornfield and a man threatening his family with an ax.
