Rep. Joe Atkins Endorsed By Minnesota Nurses

Minnesota’s nurses have announced their "whole-hearted support" for State Representative Joe Atkins in his bid for re-election this fall.

"We appreciate all that you have done on behalf of our nurses and look forward to working with you in the future," wrote Andrea Ledger, on behalf of the Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA), in a letter to Atkins. "Thank you for all your hard work on behalf of Minnesota registered nurses, patients, and working families."

Representative Atkins has consistently advocated for nurses and patients as a legislator. He has also been recognized by the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) for passing a bipartisan law to provide more flexible and affordable health insurance options for individuals and small businesses. 

Atkins’s efforts on behalf of patients include helping to secure lifesaving cancer treatment denied to a local man by the man’s New Jersey health insurance company. 

"Receiving the endorsement of Minnesota’s nurses means a lot to me," Atkins said. "I am proud to work with Minnesota’s nurses in pushing for high quality and compassionate patient care."
