Local Businessman Paul Tuschy Joins Race For House

"I will stand for the fiscally conservative values of the district by ensuring that uncontrolled government spending does not leave our children and grandchildren with debts that they cannot afford," Tuschy said.

Paul Tuschy, the endorsed Republican candidate for the new Minnesota House District 52B, which includes Inver Grove Heights, Sunfish Lake and parts of Mendota Heights and Eagan, has filed his candidacy with the Minnesota Secretary of State.

Tuschy has been actively fighting for limited, responsible government since 2006, serving on the executive committee of the district’s Republican Party, where his current role is acting chairman.

A strong proponent of the Constitution, Tuschy is running to represent the values of the district by taking the principles of fiscal responsibility, personal liberty and free market economics to the state legislature.

"I’ve often been frustrated to have to choose between the ‘lesser of two evils’ on election day," Tuschy said in the statement. "I have decided to step up and do my part to create a better future for Minnesota."

Tuschy’s incumbent opponent (Rep. Joe Atkins) has a track record of increasing government spending at unsustainable rates, which has been detrimental to Minnesota’s job creation climate and has earned him a 0 percent rating from the Taxpayers League of Minnesota and an 8 percent rating from the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce in 2011.

"This race will be about the issues confronting the district and Minnesota," Tuschy said. "I will stand for the fiscally conservative values of the district by ensuring that uncontrolled government spending does not leave our children and grandchildren with debts that they cannot afford."

Tuschy and his wife, Marie, settled in Inver Grove Heights in 2005, when they bought their first home. They are regular attendees of .  

Paul Tuschy also operates two small businesses.
