Monday Meetings: Board of Education, City Council

The City Council has a regular meeting, while the Board of Education will have a regular meeting and work session.

Today is a busy day for Inver Grove Heights elected leaders, as the City Council and the Board of Education have meetings scheduled.

The City Council will have its regular meeting at 7 p.m. at , 8150 Barbara Ave.

The Board of Education will have a 7 p.m. regular meeting at the district board room, 2990 80th St. E. A work session will follow the regular meeting.

BOARD OF EDUCATION

Among the items on the board’s agenda include:

• A vote on whether to approve the district’s 2011-2012 contract with Education Minnesota-Inver Grove Heights.

• A vote to accept a $2,775 Education Minnesota Foundation grant to promote literacy for at the elementary level for English language-learning family.

• A presentation on diabetic management by Inver Grove Heights Middle School students.

• A discussion of partnerships between Inver Grove Heights Community Schools and Inver HIlls Community College.

• A review of district evaluation systems.

• A review of facility heating, ventilation and air conditioning items for summer.

CITY COUNCIL

In what could be described as a light agenda, the City Council has two items on its regular agenda, including:

• Approving the sale of General Obligation Utility Revenue Refunding Bonds.

• Discussing a resolution that would allow for a larger sign for the Holiday store at 9087 Broderick Blvd.
