Politician on Parade at Saturday IGH Days

Mike Obermueller is planning to be in Inver Grove from 9:30-11 a.m. and has scheduled time to talk with supporters after the parade.

Second Congressional District candidate Mike Obermueller is scheduled to march in Saturday's Inver Grove Heights Days parade, according to a statement from the politician's campaign. 

Obermueller is planning to be in Inver Grove from 9:30-11 a.m. and has scheduled time to talk with supporters afterward. 

Obermueller is a former state legislator who represented the seat once held by South St. Paul native Tim Pawlenty. He grew up working on his parents’ small dairy farm, and worked to put himself through college and law school.

He lives in Eagan with his wife Sara, and their two teenage sons. He volunteers at , as a youth basketball coach and is an active member of the .

On Sunday, Obermueller is scheduled to march in the Burnsville Fire Muster Parade from 12-1 p.m.

On the GOP side of the aisle, 5 Eyewitness News and 45 Local News recently invited Congressional candidates Obermueller and John Kline to an informal, 30-minute debate.

Congressman Kline’s campaign declined the invitation citing a full September schedule, despite being in session for just eight days in September.
