The city's $2.4 million restoration of the Rock Island Swing Bridge — now a fishing pier — is complete. And city officials are inviting you to come view the results.

From 10am to noon on Saturday, June 11, the city will hold a public open house. Inver Grove Heights Parks and Recreation Department staff will be on hand to discuss the project. As a part of the festivities, the city will also highlight the new Mississippi River Regional Trail with some information on biking and bike commuting, and city and county trail maps.

City officials will be conducting free give-a-ways, and visitors will be welcome to walk out onto the 670-foot bridge span.
