Another Incumbent, New Challenger Enter School Board Race

Current board member Keri Myran and newcomer Maria Abla-Torres filed this week.

The list of candidates who have officially entered the 2011 Inver Grove Heights School Board race is growing.

On Monday, current board member Keri Myran filed for re-election. She was joined on Thursday by newcomer Maria Abla-Torres.

Current board chair Mickey Difronzo filed for re-election last Wednesday, and was the first candidate to formally enter the race. The filing period runs until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16. School Board election filings will be accepted at the district office, located adjacent to Simley High School at 2990 80th St. E. Candidates are also allowed to withdraw their candidacy. Election Day this year will take place on Nov. 8.
