Mid-Winter Convocation: Engaging Scripture as Communities of Moral Deliberation

How does Scripture address our life and, in particular, our moral decision-making? What tools do we have to reclaim and adapt the moral authority of Scripture for our time? What are the challenges of biblical preaching as a morally significant endeavor? Mid-Winter Convocation 2011, Feb. 2-4, will focus on how to engage Scripture as communities of moral deliberation.

Keynote speakers are  Matthew Skinner, associate professor of New Testament, Luther Seminary; Martha Stortz, Bernhard M. Christensen chair in religion and vocation at Augsburg College; and William H. Willimon, bishop of The United Methodist Church and former dean of chapel, Duke University.
