New Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding Club at Middle School

The new Ski and Snowboard Club is open to all middle school students. Join us for any or all of the six available trips to Afton Alps during the 2011-2012 season.

WHEN/WHERE: The trips to the Afton Alps will be held from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 16, Jan. 20, Feb. 3, 10, 24 and March 2. The bus will load in the front of Inver Grove Heights Middle School at 2:45 p.m.

TO REGISTER YOUR STUDENT: Pick-up a Registration Form/Emergency Form and Behavior Expectations Form in the main office, or register online at www.celearn4ever.org. You can also call the Community Education Office at 651-306-3633. Registration for each trip closes at 3 p.m. on the Friday prior to the trip. Register early because space is limited.

COST: $36 fee per trip. The payment includes a lift ticket, transportation, the registration fee and supervision. Make checks payable to Community Education. Equipment rental will be purchased by the student upon arrival at Afton Alps. Checks must be sent with your child made payable to Afton Alps. Equipment rental fees are below.

• Ski Rental Package (skis, boots, poles): $18
• Helmet Rental: $4
• Snow Board Rental: (snow board, boots): $18
• Snowblade Rental (ski boards, boots, poles): $18

Skis, boards and warm apparel can be dropped off after 7 a.m. the day of each trip, location to be determined. Equipment is not allowed on the school buses but may be brought by a parent. An equipment trailer will be used to haul ski and snowboard equipment to Afton. Students should bring a bag supper or money to buy food at Afton. Our “home base” will be in the “Alps” chalet at Afton.
