Simley Soccer Players Help Develop Future Spartans

Girls head coach Cassie Husemann recruited a handful of her varsity players to assist volunteer coaches with with skill-building and soccer drills for youngsters in the community.

Members of the girls soccer team got a chance to help coach some of Inver Grove's most promising young players at on Aug. 13.

Head coach Cassie Husemann recruited a handful of her varsity players to assist volunteer coaches with with skill-building and soccer drills for youngsters in the community.    

"It is through the efforts of the volunteer coaches that programs like this can be put together and the youth in the community can gain exposure to different sports," Husemann told Patch. "It was great to be out in the community working with the young athletes and future Spartans!"

Husemann's players worked hard, had fun and made an impact. 

"I would like to send a special thank you to the high school player that was working with our team. She was fantastic and the girls on my team really enjoyed her," said one of Husemann's volunteer coaches. "She can come and help out anytime! I know my little girl especially was upset to find out that she was only coming this one time."
