VIDEO: Robots Hoop It Up at Simley

Robots played basketball at Simley High School this weekend. The event gave students the opportunity to hone their technological skills ahead of a statewide competition next month.

On Feb. 18, Simley High School hosted an invitational robotics event, opening its doors to 25 robotics teams from across the state.

The event was held as part of FIRST Robotics Competition. FIRST is an international organization that provides students with the opportunity to participate in robotics competitions.

This season, the team challenge is to build a robot that shoots basketballs into a hoop. The robots square off in teams of three. The team with the most baskets after 2 minutes and 15 seconds wins.
