Three New Members to Join IGH School Board Tonight
Tom Begich, Allen Gerber and Mark Westpfahl won board seats in the Nov. 8 election.
The Inver Grove Heights Community Schools will swear in three new members to its school board during the board’s Monday night meeting.
Tom Begich, Allen Gerber and Mark Westpfahl were elected to the board during the . The three will replace eight-year board members Mickey Difronzo and Keri Myran, who lost their re-election bids, and incumbent Phil Prokopowicz, who did not seek re-election.
Incumbent Bridget Sutton held on to her seat in the November election.

Dr. Deirdre Wells will administer the oath of office to the trio of new members. She then will initiate the election of new board officers, starting with board chair.
Difronzo served as board chair last year, and Myran was board clerk. Incumbment Paul Mandell served as vice chair/treasurer.

Other items on the agenda for tonight’s meeting—which begins at 7 o’clock in the district office board room, 2990 80th St. E.—include:
• Hearing membership reports from the Association of Metropolitan Schools and the East Metro Integration District.
• Considering routine personnel moves.
• Accepting donations.
• Meeting in closed session to discuss teacher negotiations.
