VIDEO: Simley Spanish and German Clubs Settle Differences Over Dodgeball

The two clubs met Wednesday in the Simley wrestling room to duke it out.

In a unique "cultural exchange," the Simley High School Spanish and German Clubs squared off on Wednesday in a game of dodgeball.

The clubs have always had a rivalry and the game, held in the Simley wrestling room, was an opportunity to "let loose," German Club President and Simley junior Ben Bourgoin said.

Although the dodgeball game was the first of its kind, the two clubs have competed for bragging rights before. Two years ago, the groups played a competitive kickball game, according to German Club coordinator and Simley teacher Matt Mitchell. In the wake of the kickball game, the clubs members decided to "step it up" and hold a dodgeball match, Mitchell added.
