The high school senior plans on attending Drake University in the fall, where she desires to major in journalism. Madison attended a scholarship competition at Drake University in February and she was awarded a $1,000 scholarship that is renewable annually, as long as she maintains a certain GPA.

Madison has prepared herself for journalism school by taking courses at Simley such as graphic design, desktop publishing and yearbook.
