An Inver Grove Heights resident is leading an online running challenge and is 13th in another.
Steve Modica is the leader in the Runnit 2013 Challenge on dailymile.com. So far in 2013 he has logged 2,949 miles.
"There are about 330 people in the contest," which is worldwide, Modica wrote in an email.
Those miles also put him in 13th place on the dailymile.com overall count, which includes thousands of runners from around the world.
Stacie N. from Plymouth is the leading Minnesota runner on dailymile.com with 3,682 miles.
Last year Modica finished 54th while running barefoot in the Bear Water Run.
