The “Battle of the Spartans” will take place on Tuesday, as both teams square off in the season finale. The winner finishes in fourth place in the Classic Suburban Conference. Simley finished sixth last season, while Richfield was seventh in 2010. Simley is on a two-game winning streak and another victory would give them some momentum going into section play. Richfield hopes to snap a four-game losing streak. They are just 2-8 in their final ten contests.

Roda Mena—(Simley middle hitter)
Mena leads the Spartans in kills and digs this season. She was named honorable mention All-Classic Suburban Conference last season as a sophomore. Only one other sophomore was given that honor last season
Jessica January—(Richfield middle hitter)
January, who is one of the state’s top athletes, was named All-Classic Suburban Conference last season as a sophomore and is having an even better season this year as the Spartans have doubled their number of conference wins.

They can continue to get consistent play from an experienced group of seven seniors.
