PHOTOS: Scenes from the B.E.S.T. Foundation's May Day 5K

Hundreds enjoyed food, mascots, fun and even a hula hoop competition on Saturday as part of the May Day 5K.

They came by the hundreds, decked out in running gear and May Day 5K t-shirts. And when it was all over, they raised thousands of dollars for graduating Simley High School seniors.

Such was the scene at the Inver Grove Heights B.E.S.T. Foundation's 13th annual May Day 5K run/walk, which took place Saturday morning at Veterans Memorial Community Center. The well-attended event drew crowds of community members — as well as a handful of mascots, including Goldy Gopher, Viktor the Viking and more.

The money raised through the event — and other activities hosted by the foundation — fund scholarships for high school seniors.
