The Simley High School dance team competed in the Section 1AA tournament on Saturday afternoon and earned themselves a trip to the state tournament.
The Simley High School dance team competed in the Section 1AA tournament on Saturday afternoon and earned themselves a trip to the state tournament.
After just missing heading to the State Tournament in high kick with a fourth-place finish, the team redeemed itself with a second-place finish in the jazz section.
Team member Amber Busch said, "I was super excited, I had a feeling we got it. I'm really happy because this is my senior year."

"We're excited and jazzed," coach Jennifer Steenberg said after the tournament.
When asked about the upcoming state tournament, Steenberg said, "We'll be working hard and hopefully we can nail it and make it to the finals again." The section tournament was held at the Albert Lea High School on Saturday afternoon.

The state tournament will be held at the Target Center on Feb. 18 and 19.
