Simley Looks To Continue Strong Start In Girls Hockey

Simley hopes to improve to 2-0 as they face Totino-Grace in girl's hockey on Thursday.

LAST MEETING: Totino-Grace defeated Simley 5-3 on the road in 2008.

ON THE LINE
The Spartans tied for fourth in the Classic Suburban Conference last year and is looking to continue its strong 2011-12 start. The two teams had similar year last season. Simley finished 12-14-1 and lost to South St. Paul in the second round of the Section 4A playoffs, while Totino-Grace was 13-14-1 and lost to South St. Paul in the third round.

Jessica Pate—Simley forward
The senior has one goal and an assist in their season-opening 3-1 win over Holy Angels.

Kristen Jung—Simley goalie
The senior goalkeeper stopped 15 of 16 shots in the season opener.

SPARTANS WIN IF...
The senior-dominated team can keep its scoring balance. The Spartans had three different players score a goal in the season opener.

EAGLES WIN IF...
They can keep pressure on the Simley defense after being shutout in their season debut.
