PHOTOS: Simley Wrestling Wins Section 4AA

The Simley boys wrestling team beat out Mahtomedi to take first place in the section finals of the 4AA.

The battle for first place in the 4AA section finals took place this Saturday at South St. Paul High School.  Eleven teams may have entered the tournament, but the competition came down to Simley and Mahtomedi. After a long match between the two teams Simley High School came out on top, defeating Mahtomedi  67-9. 

Simley had a first-round bye, then defeated both St. Croix Lutheran and Johnson High School in subsequent rounds to qualify for the championship round of the tournament against Mahtomedi. Thanks to the win over Mahtomedi, Simley will advance to the state tournament on March 2-5.
