Benefit Set For Inver Grove Heights Mom Battling Breast Cancer

Breanna Kubes was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer last month. Friends and family are looking to rally to help with care and finances.

A benefit for an Inver Grove Heights woman diagnosed with "triple negative" breast cancer has been set for noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at Jersey's Bar and Grill in Inver Grove Heights.

Breanna Kubes, a married mother of three small children, was diagnosed last month with breast cancer, and unfortunately was told about the diagnoses of "triple negative," which means the cancer does not respond to common receptor-targeted treatments, according to information provided by the volunteers setting up November's fundraiser.

As a result, doctors have already performed a double mastectomy for Kubes, and she starts a very "aggressive" regimen of chemotherapy later this week.

She and her husband have three girls, ages 7, 4 and 1. She is getting help daily from friends and family, but the fundraiser will assist with growing medical bills, as the illness has not allowed Breanna to work.

The day will consist of a "beer bust" and taco feed, and also include a huge silent auction. Tickets are just $20 in advance, and $25 at the door on the day of the event.
