Golfers raise more than $3,800 for the Minnesota Prostate Cancer Coalition in the Jersey's Bar & Grill 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament
Area golfers raised roughly $3,800 for the Minnesota Prostate Cancer Coalition in the 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament Friday at Emerald Greens Golf Course in Hastings.
The men's top team was Team Jeff Roberto and the top women's team was team Shelley Ashton.
Over the past few years, the golf tournament has continued to grow and has explored various golf courses in Minnesota, said tournament organizer Nick Goers.

"We invited golfers to play in honor of prostate cancer research and awareness, with proceeds from this event benefiting the Minnesota Prostate Cancer Coalition," Goers said.
The Minnesota Prostate Cancer Coalition is a newly formed coalition comprised of survivors, caregivers, members of the urological medical community and patient outreach professionals with a mission to be a resource for men and their families in times of prostate cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

By emphasizing the importance of awareness and prevalence of prostate cancer, their goal is to be a forum for open dialogue about the benefits of prostate cancer screenings as well.
The tournament featured long drive, long putt, closest to the pin contest, as well as samplings from liquor and beer companies at several holes. Dinner and prizes followed the tournament at Jersey's.
