MOMS Club Focuses on Back to School at Student Athletes Take the Field

Also this week, garage sales in the Heights Patches and a special training for women focuses on self defense.

The State Fair is a little more than a week away, Back to School Nights are on the calendar, and the Inver Grove Heights MOMS Club is making Back to School Crafts.

It's official: summer is almost over.

Enjoy one of the final weeks of summer this week by getting ready for fall around Inver Grove Heights. Here's a gander at what's going on.

* Inver Grove Heights MOMS Club Meeting
The Inver Grove Heights MOMS Club August business meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 14th at 10:00 am.  The meeting will begin with an introduction of members and a welcoming of new faces!  The group will then continue with a back to school craft and social time.

* Fall Practices Begin
Simley football begins two-a-day practices this week for the football season, and seven other programs take to the field or court as summer comes to a screeching halt for Inver Grove student-athletes.
The Spartan Football Team will also be heading around town hawking the Spartan Gold Card, so look for them in your neighborhood this week and support Spartan sports.

"Not Me!" Women's Self Defense Training
Tonight (Monday) at 6:30 p.m., Not Me Training, based on a book penned by a former Navy S.E.A.L., will be held at Simley High. This self-defense class geared for women is a "must" for those who want to learn a new level of protection.

Also this week, check out our calendar of events for garage sales, some fun shows and join us next week for the Great Minnesota Get Together.
