Did "Captain Peeperpants" or "Peeps at the Beach" receive the highest number of votes from Patch users?
Captain Peeperpants swooped in to take first place. The diorama of yellow Peeps chicks by Sarah Larsen of Mendota Heights received 23 votes in Minnesota Patch's Easter Peeps contest. "Peeps at the Beach" by Elizabeth Lindrud of St. Michael received 16 votes for second place. Larsen will receive a bag of products from Peeps & Company at the Mall of America. Thank you to Larsen and Lindrud for entering, and to everyone who voted.

Two people entered Patch's Peeps Easter Contest. Now you get to decide who should win a Peeps prize package.
It's "Captain Peeperpants" against "Peeps at the beach." Two people have entered Minnesota Patch's Peeps Contest. The entry period ended Easter Sunday. Now it's time to vote for your favorite Peeps art. Sarah Larsen of Mendota Heights submitted "Captain Peeperpants." She created the diorama of yellow Peeps chicks with 6-year-old Tommy. Sarah wrote: Our entry is the first time we've tried Peep art as a family, or any of us had tried it at all. We used traditional yellow peep chicks, and turned them into a scene from the Captain Underpants book series, which is our son's favorite. Thanks! More than 300 kids and families came to the Rich Valley Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon for an Easter Egg Hunt.
More than 300 children age 3-10 participated in an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday at the Rich Valley Athletic Complex. With the help of the Inver Grove Heights Ambassadors and Recreation Coordinator Nick Thompson, several special golden eggs were placed throughout the grounds. The golden eggs entitled the finder to special prizes like piggy banks and stuffed animals. The event was sponsored by Heartland Credit Union.

While they won't see anything like the wild crush before Valentine's Day or Mother's Day, area florists and garden centers have been busy this week preparing for Easter and the beginning of spring planting. Picking up a bouquet of flowers for grandma at Easter is a lost art, area florists said. But florists and designers were still keeping busy creating Easter arrangements for area churches and spring table displays and bouquets in a vast range of styles, colors and sizes. Pure white Easter lilies are obviously the traditional Easter flower and remain popular. But the kind and colors of flowers, bouquets, arrangements and plants keeps growing every year.
