Inver Grove Heights School Board Approves 4.7 Percent Levy Increase

The increase will fund a large renovation project, district officials said.

 The Inver Grove Heights School Board voted unanimously last week to increase the district's 2011 tax levy by roughly $520,000—a 4.7 percent increase over the 2010 levy. The increase will bring the total 2011 levy to $11.65 million, up from $11.13 million last year. The change means that the owner of a home valued at $225,000 in 2011 would pay roughly $11 more in taxes that year. The owner of commercial or industrial property valued at $1 million would pay $158 more in taxes in 2011, Inver Grove Heights School District Business Manager Bruce Rimstad said.
