You can help shape the future of two greenway corridors in Dakota County—the Lake Marion-South Creek Greenway and the Mendota–Lebanon Hills Greenway—by attending an open house to review and comment on the plans. The open houses are part of the year-long master planning process for the two greenways.   The open houses are scheduled Tuesday, Jan. 15 from 6–8 p.m. at the Lebanon Hills Regional Park Visitor Center, 860 Cliff Road, Eagan and Thursday, Jan. 24 from 6–8 p.m. at the Lakeville Water Treatment Facility, 18400 Ipava Ave., Lakeville. Greenways take away tax base from cities, the county, and school districts. Rules prohibit utilities from passing though thus you have to go around them unless they are already there. Same with roads. This adds great expense. The county purchases the rights to the use the land with our money. They will tell you that they are using deeds money which is in fact our money, and they use federal money…   more ›
