Daylight saving time is just around the corner. And by "just around the corner," we mean this weekend. At 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, we'll be "springing forward" and moving your clocks forward an hour. In other words, we'll all be losing an hour of sleep Saturday into Sunday night. The benefit is that we’ll get more sunlight later in the evening and it’s a pleasant sign that spring is just around the corner (Spring 2013 officially starts on Wednesday, March 20). Annie was 16 pounds under weight when she was rescued at the last minute from a high kill shelter. Now she's healthy, in obedience school, and would be great in a home with kids.

Annie is a blend of redbone coon hound and a little pit bull. Her mix of breeds resulted in a beautiful, smart, loving dog who was rescued from a high-kill shelter at the last possible moment. She came to us with ribs and hip bones showing at 34 pounds at 10 months of age. After some good groceries, she now weighs 50 pounds which is full grown. Inver Grove Heights resident is sentenced to more than $150,000 in restitution and nine months in jail.
Inver Grove Heights resident, Donald Peter Boehmer, 60, was sentenced this week for swindling more than $150,000 from the International Concatenated Order of Hoo-Hoo (Twin Cities Hoo-Hoo Club). Boehner faces 180 days in jail, 20 years of probation and $157,727.07 in restitution according to the Dakota County Attorney's Office after pleading guilt to six counts of theft by swindle in December. The Mendota Heights Police Department conducted the investigation. Boehmer served as treasurer of the club from Nov. 2006-Dec. 2010. The missing funds were discovered through an internal audit, according to the criminal complaint. Of checks written by Boehmer from the organization’s accounts, 105 of 259 were deemed not legitimate expenditures. …
