Police Blotter: Man Throws Half-Naked Motel Tantrum

See what the Inver Grove Heights police force has been up to.

Feb. 4:  Public nuisance Police responded to a complaint of disturbing the peace and a possible burn without permit on the 4800 block of Boyd Ave. The responding officer heard “extremely loud music” from a nearby intersection. The property owner, a 32 year-old man, provided the officer with a valid Inver Grove Heights burn permit, but the officer did observe several permit violations. There were two fires going at the same time (only one was permitted). The fires were in excess of size listed. There was no water source nearby. The owner admitted he had no way to put out the fire if it got out of control. Nearby brush was extremely dry. The man was initially confrontational, but he calmed down, became apologetic and agreed to meet permit …

Jan. 18 12:40 p.m. - Inver Grove Heights Police responded to a domestic strangulation case on Bryce Avenue. Jan. 19 1 p.m. - Police responded a burglary call in the 1800 block of 52nd Street. 4 p.m. – Police responded to a burglary call in the 4900 block of Ashley Avenue. Jan. 20 6 p.m.- Police reported a theft in the 6100 block of Doffing Avenue. Police Blotter: Suicidal Man Throws Punch at Officer

An arson call a drug-related call and a burglary were also logged in the Inver Grove Heights police reports for Oct. 8-14

Oct. 5 4:45 p.m.—Police responded to a report of disorderly conduct on the 1100 block of 70th St. Oct. 7 5 p.m.—Police responded to a theft/damage to property incident on the 2700 block of 117th St. According to the report, a thief through a chainlink fence at Ferrell Gas, entered an unlocked semi trailer and stole copper tubing. Oct. 8 7 a.m.— Police responded to the 3100 block of 65th St. on a report of a domestic assault. When the officer arrived, he found a woman with a red left eye that looked like it was starting to bruise. She told police her live-in boyfriend punched her three times in the eye following an argument about his infidelity. Blotter: Would-Be Burglar Threw Bricks Through Patio Door, Then Fled

An assault, several burglaries and possession of marijuana recorded in the Inver Grove Heights Police reports for March 19 through March 25.

March 20 6:32pm — Police responded to reports of an assault on the 1900 block of 52nd St. E. 9:30pm — Police responded to a report of an attempted burglary on the 2100 block of 47th St. E. The homeowners were watching a movie with the lights off in the house when a person threw two large landscaping bricks through the windows of a patio door. Police believe the person used the bricks to try and gain entry to the home. The would-be burglar fled before homeowners could identify him or her. Blotter: When Asked to Leave a Bar, 23-year-old Man Got Violent

Disorderly conduct and burglary calls also included in the Inver Grove Heights police reports for March 4 through March 11.

March 4 9am — Police responded to a malicious punishment call on the 3700 block of Conroy Trail. 10:55pm — An Inver Grove Heights police officer pulled over a car driven by a 19-year-old Apple Valley man on 155th Street W. because the headlight wasn't working. When the officer approached the car, he noticed the smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. He searched the driver and found a small metal canister known as a marijuana grinder in the man's waistband. The driver was cited for petty misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. March 5 1:30am — Police responded to a disorderly conduct call on the 8000 block of Delano Court. 9:45pm — Police responded to reports of an assault that took place at a bar and restaurant on the 5000 …

Blotter: Disorderly conduct, plenty of burglaries

A man is charged after stiffing a pizza delivery person, and police use a K-9 unit to track a suspected burglar, according to the police reports for Dec. 5 through Dec. 11.

An employee reported tha an air compressor, chainsaw and cash were missing from the business. Police are following up with an investigation.  8:05pm — A Baja Sol employee called to report a theft. Police say an Inver Grove Heights man asked a delivery person for the restaurant to get change for a $50 bill. The employee didn't have enough cash to fulfill the request, and left the food at the home to get change from the restaurant. When he returned, the lights were off and no one answered the door. Police are following up with phone calls. Nov. 28 Police responded to Lake Cove Apartments on Audubon Avenue after reports of an aggravated robbery involving a gun. Residents reported a male suspect, 20 to 25 years old, pulled a handgun on several people and demanded money. At the time of the report, there are no suspects.
