Last Tuesday, the Spartans earned their first Classic Suburban Conference game of the season with a 66-51 win over North St. Paul. Simley was led by Sam Stensgard with 20 points. Simley, 7-4 overall and 1-2 in the Classic Suburban Conference, will visit South St. Paul in Tuesday. GIRLS BASKETBALL Simley scored its seventh consecutive victory with its 42-22 decision over Mankato Loyola on Saturday. The Spartans were coming off a successful trip to the Trinity Tournament over Christmas break, when they won two of three games. They defeated Harding, 67-60, and Bethlehem Academy, 56-47. Jensen, of South St. Paul, died from complications of an illness while serving at Camp Pendleton. He graduated from Simley High School in 2011, where he was a member of the wrestling and cross county teams.

The Spartans opened the season last week with a pair of victories: 60-57 over North Branch and 52-15 over Park. Sam Stensgard scored a game-high 19 points for Simley over Park. GIRLS BASKETBALL The Simley girls basketball team dropped a tough 51-50 decision to New Prague on Friday.
