Jennifer Louise Peerman was being boarded in the Ramsey County Jail Tuesday night on $14,000 bail—$10,000 for charges in Dakota County and $4,000 for charges in Washington County. Among the charges facing Peerman include: • Felony offering a forged check, for allegedly attempting to cash a stolen check at an Inver Grove Heights bank in August. The charge carries a penalty of up to five years in jail and a fine of between $3,000 and $10,000. Peerman was sought on a nationwide warrant for this charge…

Joseph Scott Welch, 21, is charged with second-degree drug possession, a felony with a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison and a $500,000 fine. South St. Paul police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle just after 7 p.m. Dec. 2 in the 300 block of 8th Avenue South, according to the criminal complaint. Mariah Rae Warborg, 19, of Minneapolis was arrested and charged with felony auto theft after being pulled over by the officer on Nov. 21. According to a Dakota County criminal complaint released this week: When the officer performed a license plate on the car in front of him, he learned the car had been reported stolen the previous night. A 40-year-old South St. Paul man was arrested on July 7 after police say he beat up his pregnant girlfriend, her son and her mother in a drunken rage. Following the alleged attack, Toby Terrell Rogers was charged with three counts of felony domestic assault; two counts of third-degree assault; and a count of domestic assault by strangulation. According to a Dakota County criminal complaint, Rogers started drinking alcohol after helping the family move into a residence in the 400 block of Camber Ave. The complaint states he was asked to leave the home after becoming angry because his girlfriend was speaking to a man on the phone. Timothy John Stone, 47, punched, strangled and threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, her children and his own children.
A 47-year-old South St. Paul man was sentenced Wednesday to 21 months in the Minnesota Correctional Facility at St. Cloud after pleading guilty to one count of felony domestic assault by strangulation. Dakota County District Court Judge Marth M. Simonett stayed the execution of the sentence for three years—essentially placing Timothy John Stone on probation until 2015. Stone was arrested inside a tent in Wentworth Park on May 29 after police say he punched, strangled and threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, her children and his own children. Five years? Not long enough! This could have become a homicide had the pregnant mother lost that baby due to abuse. I have been in an abusive relationship. It will always be thus....it takes extreme effort on the part of the abuser to not let annoyances, however big or small, take him to the point of no return. What amazes me are the woman who take the abuser back....thinking life will get better…   more ›
