Target Store Set to Open in July

A new 135,000 square foot Target building to employ about 200 local people is set to open in Inver Grove Heights in July.

“The new store, located at South Robert Trail and Highway 55, will offer guests the everyday essentials and exclusive brands they have come to expect from Target,” according to a press release.

The new store will also include a selection of fresh produce, fresh packaged meat and pre-packaged baked goods.

“Target is pleased to open its first store in Inver Grove Heights, making it the eighth in Dakota County,” said Bryan Everett, Target’s senior vice president of stores in the Midwest region. “Target is proud to expand its presence in the state where it originated. We take pride in being a good neighbor in the Twin Cities community and developing long-lasting relationships with guests and the Inver Grove Heights community.”

The store will be one of the 20 stores the company plans to open in 2012.

Potential new employees can attend job fairs about two months before the new store opens or apply online or at in-store kiosks located at all Target stores approximately three months prior to the new store opening.

Target creates strong partnerships with local organizations in all of the communities where the company does business through Target’s community giving programs. This store will start a local grant program, contribute to the United Way and donate food to a Feeding America member, or approved agency. Target also encourages team members to volunteer their time to serve the needs of their community.
