Get Out: Weekend Events in and around Inver Grove Heights

  • Splash-n-Shoot
    When/Where:
    5:30 pm to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, at  Veterans Memorial Community Center in Inver Grove Heights
    Why Go:
    Enjoy swimming at the water park or playing with toys and equipment in the gym: You can bring your own floatable water toys for fun in the pool, and even your riding toys for lots of action and adventure in the gym (no rubber tires or battery operated toys). Refreshments will be provided.

      $4 per person
  • Fish Fry at the Gallagher Hansen VFW Post 295
    When/Where:
    5 p.m. to 8 pm on Friday, Nov. 4, at 111 Concord Exchange S., South St. Paul
    Why Go:
    The Commanders Fish Fry held at the VFW Post 295 is an annual all-you-can eat fish fry—and it’s often called the “best fish in town.” Fish with all the trimmings will be available for lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and for dinner from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. For additional information, contact the Post at 651-455-1505.
    Price:
    Lunch is $9 and dinner is $10 for fish with all the trimmings. Fish to go is also available for $8.
  • Arthur Miller's “All My Sons” presented by VISTA Productions 
    When/Where:
    7:30 pm to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, at Convent of The Visitation School, 2455 Visitation Dr., Mendota Heights.
    Why Go:
    The award-winning theater program of Saint Thomas Academy and Visitation School presents “All My Sons” by Arthur Miller. The play follows the story of Joe Keller, a successful, middle-aged, self-made man who framed his business partner for a crime and engineered his own exoneration. Now, his son is about to marry the partner's daughter, and his lie of a life is unraveled. The play is directed by Wendy Short-Hays and Elliott Hays.   • Create a Play: Fractured Fairytales with SteppingStone Theatre
    When/Where:
    10:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, Nov. 4, at Dakota County Library at Rosemount (Robert Trail), Robert Trail Meeting Room.
    Why Go:
    Examine old-time fairytales and explore creative ways to twist and turn them into updated favorites. The result? Mishaps, mayhem, and mischief will abound. Registration is required for this event, suitable for ages 9 to 12.

  • Forever Wild Family Friday: Nature Bingo
    When/Where:
    7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, at Dakota Lodge, Thompson County Park, 1200 Stassen Ln., West St. Paul.
    Why Go:
    Bring your family to Dakota Lodge on the first Friday of each month for fun, family entertainment—a new activity will be waiting every month, to include games, scavenger hunts, bonfires, snacks and more. This time, join an exciting game of bingo—nature-style. The fun is open to all ages; an adult must accompany youth under age 18.
